For custody, divorce, landlord & workplace cases

Document everything.
Be ready when it counts.

ExhibitFile is a private journal for what’s happening in your case — screenshots, photos, documents and receipts — organized by date and by what they prove. When you need it, it becomes a binder your lawyer can actually use.

“When did they move out?”
“How do you support your son?”

Questions like these come up in court — usually when phones aren’t allowed. ExhibitFile keeps every answer dated, organized and backed by proof, so you’re not scrolling through two years of texts trying to remember.

How it works

Four steps. No legal background needed.

1

Create a case

One case for each situation — like your custody case. Name it something your lawyer will recognize.

2

Write what you’re proving

In your own words: “They moved out on Oct 22, not earlier.” Each point gets its own evidence, in date order.

3

Add entries & receipts

Pick the day, write what happened and attach screenshots, photos, PDFs or receipts. Note what each one shows.

4

Make a binder

One tap creates an organized PDF with a timeline and numbered exhibits — to send your lawyer or print for court.

The key idea

One case per situation.
Everything you’re proving goes inside it.

Custody / Co-parenting

ProvingI’m an active parent — I pay for my son’s needs
38 receipts · school documents · doctor visits
ProvingThey moved out on Oct 22, 2025 — not earlier
Text screenshots · notes · the date each one happened
ProvingI handle school and doctor visits
Report cards · appointment reminders · teacher emails
One screenshot can support more than one point — and it all stays in one place, in one binder.
A different situation, like a landlord dispute, gets its own separate case.
Built for real life

Everything a lawyer wishes you’d kept

Designed around what makes records believable and easy to use in court.

Calendar & search

See what happened on any day, jump to any year, or search “groceries” and find every related entry and receipt.

Screenshots with their own dates

A text from October 22 is filed under October 22 — even if you screenshot it weeks later. Note what it shows and what’s missing.

Receipts & spending

Snap a receipt, pick a category and see totals by category and month — like everything you’ve spent on school or sports.

PDFs & documents

Attach court orders, school records, medical paperwork and bank statements. They’re added to your binder with every page labeled.

Numbered exhibits

Photos from one entry become one exhibit with pages — 7a, 7b, 7c — numbered the same way in every binder you send.

Recorded & edit history

Every entry shows when it was written and whether it was edited — the kind of detail that makes records credible.

Who it’s for

Any situation where dates and proof matter

You don’t need to be in court yet. Many people start documenting early — and are glad they did.

👨‍👩‍👦 Custody & co-parenting

Parenting time, living situation, the kids’ needs, receipts
  • I’m an active parent — I pay for my child’s needs
  • They moved out on Oct 22 — not earlier
  • Missed or late parenting time

💍 Divorce & separation

Separation date, accounts and bills, property, receipts
  • We separated on March 3, 2025
  • I’ve paid the mortgage and utilities since
  • The truck was taken without an agreement

🏠 Landlord & tenant

Repairs, rent, notices, the unit’s condition
  • I reported the leak 5 times and it wasn’t fixed
  • The landlord entered without notice
  • I paid rent on time every month

💼 Workplace

Incidents, HR reports, pay and schedule changes
  • I reported the problem to HR on June 12
  • My hours were cut after I reported it
  • There’s a pattern of incidents since January
The binder

Hand your lawyer something they can use

Lawyers bill by the hour. A shoebox of screenshots costs you time and money — an organized binder saves both.

  • A timeline of everything, oldest first
  • A section for each point you’re proving, with its evidence
  • Numbered exhibits with your notes beside each one
  • A spending summary with totals by category and month
  • Print it for court, or send just one point or just your receipts
Private by design

Your entries, photos and receipts are stored only on your device. We never see them.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need to be in court already?

No. Many people start documenting when they first think they might need records someday. Notes written at the time things happen are far more convincing than memories pieced together later.

Can I add screenshots from months or years ago?

Yes. Every screenshot and photo gets its own “date this happened,” so a text from 2023 is filed under 2023 even if you add it today.

Should I make a separate case for each thing I want to prove?

No — make one case for each situation (for example, your custody case) and add each thing you want to prove as a point inside it. That way one piece of evidence can support several points, and everything ends up in one binder.

Will my lawyer be able to use the binder?

That’s what it’s designed for: a dated timeline, a section per point, numbered exhibits with your notes, and a spending summary — in a standard PDF they can read, print or share.

Who can see what I put in the app?

Only you. Everything stays on your phone unless you choose to share a binder. You can also turn on App Lock so the app needs Face ID or your passcode to open.

Is ExhibitFile legal advice?

No. ExhibitFile is a record-keeping tool. It helps you organize your information; it doesn’t replace a lawyer. Talk to an attorney about your situation, and only record calls or audio where your state’s law allows it.
